About B.A.S.E. Camp Children’s Cancer Foundation

Mission

To provide a YEAR ROUND series of programs for children and families facing the challenge of living with CANCER or other LIFE THREATENING, hematology related illnesses.

Who Does B.A.S.E. Camp Serve?

There are over 300 children currently on treatment in Central Florida.

Over the past 24 years of serving Central Florida children and families, BASE Camp has strived to help with the day-to-day challenges that children and families face.  It is their goal to be a consistent presence that families can rely on.

It is BASE Camp’s goal is to help the patient to heal, and to help and support the sibling in their pain and suffering also.  They plan activities that allow the sibling to accompany the patient; if the patient is not able to attend the activity, the sibling is encouraged to attend.

BASE Camp outings also serve as a “support group for kids” of a parent diagnosed with cancer.  It is expected that members whose parents have cancer will soon surpass those with a child patient because there are more parents than children who have cancer.

BASE Camp programs provide financial support for families as well.  They help families pay bills.  It is their goal to provide REAL and MEANINGFUL Patient Aid to any family who needs it, so that they can stop worrying about bills and focus on getting well.

What Sets B.A.S.E. Camp Apart?

They have created innovative programs with the goal of bringing these children and families together, so that they can socialize and help each other.
